Overview Directs the plant's production and sanitation activities on 3rd shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely production of product.   • Oversees production and sanitation activities on the shift, supervising employees to achieve production and sanitation goals efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
  • Manages budgets specific to the production and sanitation areas.
  • Controls labor costs through effective personnel scheduling and utilization, ensuring optimal manpower allocation.
  • Maintains and tracks shift performance in alignment with scheduling, production, sanitation, quality, and safety standards.
  • Minimizes costs related to overtime, maintenance/repair, downtime, and rework, promoting cost efficiency.
  • Ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as adherence to company policies.
  • Enforces quality, food safety, and HAACP support programs, ensuring that company, customer, and government standards are consistently met.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of all required production and sanitation reporting.
  • Provides hands-on training, direction, development, evaluation, and coaching to employees, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Maintains positive relationships with employees, community stakeholders, and corporate partners.
  • Coordinates with other managers and supervisors to streamline material handling, maintenance, accounting, and inventory control processes.
  • Upholds high standards for cleanliness, productivity, and maintenance within production and sanitation areas.
  • Assists with other duties and responsibilities as assigned, supporting overall operational goals.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years production/group leader experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation and production processes.
  • Experience with HACCP and GMP regulations relevant to food production and sanitation.
  • Certifications such as HACCP, SQF Practitioner, or other food safety certifications (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)
Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift while moving about the facility. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists) and steel toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
