Position: Sanitation Specialist Job Type: Part Time; Temp-to-Hire Locations: North Charleston, SC 29406 Pay Rate: $15.00/HR [paid weekly] Shift(s) available... 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (... and works every other weekend) Job Description: Responsible for removal and transport of all recycling and waste (to include solid waste, regulated medical waste, universal waste, pharmaceutical, RCRA/hazardous waste). Will also perform general Environmental Services Associate duties as needed, such as... Adhere to safety and sanitation policies. Adhere to policies related to storage, handling and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste and universal. Maintain and adhere to Environmental Services uniform and personal appearance standards at all times. Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazardous Waste training and maintains proficiency. Report all hazards and unsafe work conditions. Focus on patient experience and follow all patient experience standards. Collaborate with leadership with recommendations for patient experience improvement. Manage service recovery as needed. Maintains cleanliness of waste holding/storage areas. Delivers clean and removes solid linen as needed. Foster a culture of commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the organization. Participate in team and individual employee training. Participate in training with senior housekeepers to further develop/advance within the industry. Manage waste/recycling in order to meet/exceed facility waste and recycling cost goals. Correctly utilize all supplies and resources at all times to minimize waste. Follow all time keeping standards: time clock procedures, meal breaks, timely clocking, etc. Performs any other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Preferred 1 + years of experience in healthcare. Preferred 1 + years of experience in housekeeping or service related field.
