Read on!The Processing and Sanitation Supervisor will meet or exceed Kreher quality standards by performing and monitoring duties relative to the processing operation and sanitation of the egg grader and processing plant and warehouse at our Clarence location. The Processing and Sanitation Supervisor will work with and provide leadership to the processing team on packaging until the end of the processing shift, and then will work with and oversee the sanitation team with the required cleaning and sanitation duties.This is a great opportunity to work with a motivated team within a sustainable, family-owned, and progressive environment. This is a full-time, mostly second shift position. The regular schedule for the successful Processing and Sanitation Supervisor will be Sunday from 8 am until roughly 3:30 pm or until the day is done and Monday - Thursday from 12:30 pm until the day is done, roughly between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm.Responsibilities:
- Oversee all cleaning and sanitation of the egg grader and all processing equipment, the packing room, the cooler and the dry storage warehouse.
- Ensure departmental job tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently.
- Meet or exceed standards in the tasks performed without sacrificing quality or personal safety.
- Teach, encourage, and trust employees to take on new responsibilities and monitors their progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents and encourage the team to do the same.
- Look for opportunities to reduce re-work, waste, etc., and inform management of potential hazards.
- Monitor employees and participate in the safe operation of lift jacks and electrical jacks, as well as loading and unloading trucks; set personal example.
- Prior to beginning cleaning and sanitation; work with packaging area to ensure that products are packaged in the correct cartons and cases.
- Ensure packaging is meeting set standards; labeling of cartons is consistent with egg product; special requests from customers are met (i.e. special dates, numbers, etc.).
- Monitor products for valid dates (sell by, use by, and packaging dates).
- Train employees on proper handling and operating of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Train employees on proper cleaning and sanitation of egg grader, packing room, cooler and dry storage warehouse.
- Provide input and participate in progressive counseling / discipline when appropriate and utilize company documentation procedures for compliance and performance issues.
- Communicate and explain company and department vision to employees, and maintain and encourage two-way communication by reaching out and getting to know each individual on the team.
- Share department results with the team and ensure recognition of individual and team achievements.
- Provides specific informal and formal feedback to employees in a timely fashion.
- Complies with Kreher's Policies and Work Rules, as well as federal and state laws.
