Your OpportunityThe Sanitation Supervisor manages the Sanitation Department and assures all live haul and feed units are washed and disinfected based on current biosecurity procedures and within the scheduled turnaround times.
Core ResponsibilitiesPerform trailer audits and tabulate results.
Perform trailer sampling (preferably from audited trailers).
Perform routine sanitation equipment inspection ( right equipment/function).
Monitor disinfectant use and verify tank concentration.
Periodic disinfectant calibration.
Time audit of sanitation process.
Engage with other truck wash managers/supervisors and bio-security managers to implement best practices.
Engage in/participate in work processes to gauge best practices.
Understand and manager water usage and effluent regulations.
Ensure wash log is maintained and washes are charges correctly in CAM.
Manages daily operation and budgeted cost of the Sanitation Department, including determining the techniques to be used in operation of the department and determining the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, and tools to be used.
Directly supervises employees in the Sanitation Department, including conducting interviews, hiring and training employees; reviewing and appraising employee productivity; setting and adjusting work hours of employees; managing payroll system to ensure correct and timely pay, planning and apportioning work among employees; handling employee complaints; disciplining employees when appropriate; and participating in the termination of employees within the department.
Performs maintenance and repairs as needed in the facility.
Participates in development of the budget for the Sanitation Department and ensures departmental operation within the budget.
Collects and submits informational reports on departmental efficiency and sets goals and objectives for continuous improvement.
Ensures all equipment, tractors and trailers assigned to the Sanitation Department are maintained and functioning properly.
Maintains all biosecurity procedures, site safety and OSHA compliance and is responsible for compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Murphy-Brown LLC subscribes.
Reports all environmental issues immediately to the supervisor.
Reads, understands, and reviews the company's emergency notification process and policy.
Must be able to cover for the Sanitizer position as needed.

Associate degree from accredited college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Software.
Must have a valid state driver's license.
CDL class A license, preferred

Must be able to operate a high pressure washing system.
