Â A world where everyone has the right to nutrition from the goodness of the earth and we reduce these gaps, one action at a time.DESCRIPTIONUnder the general supervisionof the Sanitation Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the Sanitation Technician II is to clean and sanitize all processing equipment, floors, walls, pipes, trash receptacles, drains, grounds, etc. This position will lead the Sanitation Technicians crew.ResponsibilitiesThe statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. May perform other duties as assigned.Responsible to comply with all Quality and Foods Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management Systems with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption.Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment ensuring equipment care and integrityClean and sanitize equipment with the correct chemicals/cleaning agents and scrubbing materialsProperly and safely mix chemicals per label instructionsFrequently lift/move hoses, equipment, chemical containers throughout work shiftComply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements at all timesUtilize company resources in a safe and effective mannerAbide by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Work Rules, Safety Rules, and Attendance RulesLead Sanitation personnel under his/her responsibilityAssign work to employeesIdentify any training needs for sanitation personnel. Document trainingEnsures sanitation team adheres to all requirements to maintain a safe workplace including wearing the necessary protective equipment (PPE)Ensure adherence to all safety and sanitation rules and regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals and suppliesMaintain open communication and working relationships with all departments, including, QA/QC, Production and MaintenanceMake recommendations to Supervisor regarding improvements to Sanitation Department's efficiency and/or effectivenessCommunicate issues and important information to appropriate person immediatelyMay be required to drive forkliftImmediately report any accidentsImmediately report any malfunctions of processing equipmentImmediately report any safety hazardWork around moving equipment with cleaning chemicals with the plantRead and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Follow verbal and written directionsComplete required paperwork accuratelyAssist others in their areas as assignedPerform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions of the job, as assigned.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Previous sanitation experiencePrevious experience in a leadership/supervisory roleCertified to operate forklift, or ability to become certified within 30 days of assuming positionExcellent Communication Skills, both oral and writtenDetail orientated and safety consciousMust be able to use ladders and other required tools needed to perform the job (i.e. brooms, water, etc.), work with chemicals per DOLE procedures.Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance.Ability to work any shift, any day of the week, as assigned and overtime as neededAbility to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen and background checkEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHigh School or equivalent preferred but not requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to stand, walk, sit for 8+ hours/shiftMust be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/twist/kneel and turn throughout workday, for varying lengths of timeMust be able to reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder levelMust be able to work in a cold environment with an average temperature of 40 degrees FahrenheitMust be able to work on concrete work surfacesMust be able to climb stairs and laddersMust have dexterity to be able to hold a high-pressure hose (750-1000 psi) for long periods.Must be able to work with chemicalsMust be able to wear a respirator (if needed).
