SUMMARYThe Sanitation Technician, Sr. position performs a variety of semi-skilled, heavy manual tasks related to the collection of refuse on assigned residential or business routes. Position requires regular operation of a city vehicle to perform duties. Schedule: 3rd Shift
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of semi-skilled, heavy manual tasks related to the collection of refuse on assigned residential/business routes or performs duties to maintain cleanliness in the Central Business District, Light Rail, Gold Line as well as other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Ability to follow specific instructions, recognize and apply safe work practices
- Ability to walk long distances, lift and carry 100 lbs.
- Ability to work assigned shift and may be required to assist in multiple areas
- Ability to work outdoors exposed to all weather conditions
- Must be able to work holidays
- Must also be able to work nights, weekends or other unusual hours as needed in support of special events or emergency response
- Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, safety precautions and work hazards involved in operation of equipment
- Ability to read street maps and follow instructions
- Final candidate subject to job related physical agility test
- Ability to obtain a City driver permit is required
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS Previous manual labor experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Valid Driver's License
SALARY$24.11 hr
