MagTech is currently hiring for saw operator for a manufacturing client in the Walled Lake, MI area. Please apply below if you are interested and meet the qualifications.Description:Saw operators set up, use and maintain a Wells CNC saw to cut and trim raw stock materials to job specifications. Responsibilities:
- Inspecting and measuring: Using tools like tape measures, rulers, squares, and calipers to measure workpieces and mark them for cuts, and to verify the accuracy of cuts
- Adjusting: Using wrenches, rulers, handwheels, pedals, levers, or panel buttons to adjust saw blades
- Mounting and bolting: Attaching sawing blades or attachments to machine shafts
- Monitoring: Adjusting speed and tension, and clearing jams to ensure proper operation
- Sharpening and replacing: Using hand tools to sharpen blades, or replace defective or worn blades or bands
- Guiding: Guiding workpieces against saws, sawing over workpieces by hand, or operating automatic feeding devices to guide cuts
- Examining: Looking for defects or issues in completed workpieces, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces
- Sorting: Sorting defective pieces according to types of flaws
- Counting, sorting, or stacking finished workpieces
- Completing paperwork: Accurately completing paperwork
- Ensuring safety: Ensuring the work area is safe, clean, and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
Job Requirements:
- Operate Wells CNC saw
- use a measuring tape
- read work orders to cut materials to required dimensions
- knowledge of raw metal stock
- 1 year experience
