Akkodis is seeking a Scala Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid) . You will design and develop a scalable swaps lifecycle and booking platform and work closely with multiple teams to ensure solutions meet high performance and maintainability standards. Rate Range: $67/hour to $77/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Scala engineer job responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing scalable solutions for the next-generation swaps lifecycle and booking platform.
- Collaborating with application development, DBA, and UNIX teams to analyze requirements and create efficient, maintainable solutions.
- Leading software engineers to implement database best practices and delivering high-performance solutions.
- Performing end-to-end impact assessments for technical changes, ensuring minimal disruption to upstream and downstream systems.
- Conducting proof of concept (POC) work and research to adopt leading practices for scalable and reliable solutions.
- Tuning SQL queries, managing procedures, functions, and optimizing performance on large-scale databases like Oracle Exadata.
- Contributing to database capacity planning and resource management for optimal performance on enterprise-level systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in database architecture and development.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Exadata or similar MPP databases.
- Strong expertise in OLTP systems, data warehousing, and query performance tuning.
