They willbe in charge ofreceiving payments, checking loads, andensuring the safety of the landfill and scale at all times.Additional Responsibilities: Scale OperatorServe as first point of contact for any drivers, customers, or other traffic at the scale houseAccurately calculate and process payments,weightsand other measurementsVerify incoming loads do notcontainany unnecessary or inappropriate materialVarious administrative tasks including regular filing, data entry and reportingProvidegeneral upkeep of the scale houseAdditionalduties as assigned.Work Environment: Scale OperatorThis Scale Operator will be based out of our Newark, NJ location.This shift will be an overnight position with 3 days on 4 days off, 4 days on 3 days off schedule.Required to use motor coordination such as typing, machineoperating, etc. throughout the greater part of thework dayDaily exposure to physical environment including odors, loud noises, weather elements, etc.Performs other duties as assignedRequirements: Scale OperatorApplicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.High school/GED educationcompleted,higher education is a plus.Minimum 2 years of warehouse environment experience.Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.Experience working with scales is strongly preferred.Working knowledge of general computer skills.Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipmentConsistently capable of working independently to safely analyze and resolve problems.Fluency in Englishrequired, Spanish bilingual is a plus.QualificationsCareer opportunitiesWe believe in providing the training and development you need to grow your career with Interstate Waste Services.
