Job DescriptionScale Operator - Ashburn, GA This is a full time salaried non-exempt position. Job Responsibilities:
  • This position will be responsible for weighing trucks into and out of the facility as well as all paperwork associated with incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Coordinates unloading, loading and staging of farmerstock, hulls, oilstock and shelled good shipments.
  • Required to effectively communicate with the office team
  • Recording balancing and distribution of all required administrative paperwork and records with incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Responsible for timely, attendance during hours and days of truck scales operation. (Hours may vary during Harvest & other times)
  • Checking seals on truck doors/openings against the individual Truck Seal and check Bill of Ladings against Truck Seal .
  • Responsible of the daily check balancing of the scales and the reporting of scale weight issues to the assigned person.
  • Responsible for the inventory of scale supplies and Farmer Stock Delivery Tickets .
  • Correctly recording of trailer tag numbers, Bill of Ladings numbers, scale ticket numbers, delivery tickets numbers and BOL numbers.
  • Assist with other office task that deem necessary and requested, to include but not limited to, answering the phone, cleanliness of the work area inside office scales area and scale windows, recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions, security issues, & environmental issues.
Job Qualifications (Required Skills)
  • Prior experience running industrial scales preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Safety oriented work habits
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and mainframe systems
  • Document filing
  • Willingness to adapt to changing workload priorities to support overall deadlines.
  • Strong familiarity with office concepts, practices and procedures
  • Ability to routinely arrive at work on time and maintain good attendance record
