JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduler to join our team in Rochester, NY. This role is pivotal in supporting the management and optimization of production schedules, ensuring timely project completion and efficient workflow. As the Production Scheduler, you will act as a crucial liaison between the planning team and production operations, handling multiple schedules, meeting deadlines, and enhancing production performance. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the development and management of production schedules, interfacing with production teams to identify and address scheduling risks, and providing effective solutions to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Managing Multiple Production Schedules:

* Oversee and coordinate multiple production schedules concurrently. Ensure alignment and efficient use of resources across all schedules to meet production requirements.

* Ensuring Critical Deadlines Are Met:

* Track progress and enforce adherence to critical deadlines.

* Initially, you will provide the Planners with recommendations before being released to independently adjust schedules and intervene as necessary to keep projects on track and ensure timely completion.

* Optimizing Production Workflow and Performance:

* Work towards gaining an understanding of the planning schedule and production processes to identify inefficiencies.

* Reviewing Production Processes for Improvement:

* Collaborate and offer suggestions to streamline workflow and boost overall performance.

* Focused Support on Short-Term Production Schedules:

* Develop an understanding of the timelines and resources required to meet the weekly schedule.

* Handling Unforeseen Problems and Resource Allocation:

* Provide the Planning team with prompt updates around unforeseen production issues. Collaborate with the Planners, Buyers and Operations leads to resolve problems and reallocate resources as needed to minimize disruptions and maintain a smooth production flow.

* Acting as a Liaison for the Planning Team:

* Serve as a primary point of contact between the planning team and production operations. Provide regular job status updates, understand schedule risks, and offer solutions for maintaining or recovering schedules.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

* Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and unforeseen challenges.

* Strong analytical skills for evaluating and improving production processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

* Scheduling and Planning: Ability to assist with the development and execution of the weekly and monthly planning cycles. Raise alerts around system master data integrity and updates/corrections needed.

* Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of capacity and materials planning, safety practices, and production scheduling.

* Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Proficient at analyzing risks and providing effective solutions.

* Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.

* Computer Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, with moderate Excel capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a relevant field preferred. An Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field may also be considered. Internal candidates working knowledge of process and product exposure may also be determined to satisfy the educational requirements.

* Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning and scheduling (or equivalent role) in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) setting.

* 2 years of SAP experience desired.

* APICS certification preferred.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $55,500/yr to $77,280/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience
