Scheduler, Expeditor, Production Planner

Hunter Buildings & Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Scheduler/Expeditor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling and expediting of materials, resources, and production timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities, working closely with cross-functional teams, and adapting to the dynamic needs of a manufacturing environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines and goals, updating to reflect changes in project scope or timing
  • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, production, and PM teams to align resources and ensure material availability for uninterrupted project flow
  • Material Expediting: Track and expedite the flow of materials/parts, coordinating with suppliers/vendors to meet project timelines. Anticipate potential delays and take proactive steps to minimize impact
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate updates on project progress, material needs, potential scheduling conflicts and provide regular updates/reports to project stakeholders
  • Data Management: Monitor and track key project metrics, maintaining accurate records and utilize scheduling software and ERP systems for data entry and reporting
  • Problem Resolution: Identify bottlenecks, delays, or issues that could impact the schedule, and work with relevant teams to resolve them efficiently
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize scheduling efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance resource utilization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is a plus
  • At least 2+ years of experience in scheduling, production planning, or expediting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement practices, project management tools and methodologies, preferred
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (such as MS Project or similar) and ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt to changes and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
