Experience developing capital project schedules and performing reviews of contractor-submitted baseline and periodic schedule updates for compliance with specifications and overall reasonableness. Minimum 7 years experience.
Main Duties:
- Prepare, analyze, and update project and construction schedules using industry standard scheduling methodologies and construction industry standard computer software packages.
- Create cost and resource-loaded baseline, updated, and as-built schedules using Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
- Coordinate and cooperate with Yale personnel, contractors, architects and engineers of records, and other entities to complete Scheduling responsibilities.
- Perform resource planning, periodic schedule updating and reporting, schedule change control (including analysis of proposed and final change orders), and scheduling contingency analysis.
- Provide advice to the assigned Yale Program Director on all scheduling matters.
- Communicate precisely in oral and written form precise nature of schedule related problems and propose solutions to scheduling problems.
- Analyze time extension and inefficiency claims, proposals, and other vendor-asserted requests for schedule adjustments, communicating conclusions of analysis, recommending responses and actions, and supporting negotiations to resolve vendor scheduling requests and proposals.
- Analyze baseline, update, recovery and revisions to schedule and reporting problems, if any, along with proposed solution.
- Maintain log of schedules and attend weekly meetings.
- Track changes in scheduling logic and their effect on the critical, interim milestones and project completion dates.
- Provide verification and supporting documentation for contractor progress payment application by analyzing resource loaded construction schedule.
- Assist in reviewing and approving contractors CPM schedule for logic, durations, mechanics, etc., to meet construction milestone and contract completion.
- Perform other Scheduling Services support tasks as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience providing schedule development and/or review services on vertical construction projects. Experience on higher education construction projects preferred.
- Highly proficient in Oracle P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
- Proficiency in reading/understanding construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduling for multi-year capital construction programs required. Successful candidate must possess at least one of the following credentials: AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) and /or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), P6 certification.
Education
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant experience which equates to this degree.
