Job Description:
Position DescriptionPurposeThe purpose of this role is to act as the Scheduling and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Construction Division. Specifically, develop and implement standardized scheduling philosophies and practices through effective collaboration, training, and mentoring. Focus & ScopeEssential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:Technical / Specialty Area
  • Collaborates with Estimators, Project Management to create project schedules using traditional and Critical Path Scheduling Methods to standardize scheduling philosophies and practices through effective coaching and mentoring.
  • Designs, creates, and implements utilization of standard scheduling templates to include resource and cost loading facilitating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Determines and manages scheduling software licensing requirements to maximize company user productivity. Coordinates with internal Information Systems leadership and software vendors to facilitate installation of software upgrades.
  • Builds and sustains effective partnerships with internal clients. Improves end user understanding and commitment to the Construction Scheduling philosophy and industry best practices through consistent and effective coaching and training.
  • Visibly supports Teichert's Injury Prevention and Safety program. Proactively identifies, and communicates, safety improvements and hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of standardized project scheduling standards (processes and/practices.
  • May interface with members of upper management and provide detailed information regarding projects status, delays and proposed mitigation measures.
  • Interprets construction specifications and drawings, construction contracts, project schedules, budgets, and other construction related documents.
  • Contributes to the development of, and implements, plans for future business and professional growth in Construction by staying abreast of and evaluating trends in the industry. Ensures the Scheduling activities remain focused on long range priorities, customer feedback, and continuously strives to make improvements to day-to-day processes and practices.
  • Helps position company for industry changes and opportunities.
  • Facilitates collaboration across area offices and builds consistency across scheduling practices and procedures. Ensures policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to as well as protect the company's interests.

    Role Qualifications & Requirements Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
    Experience& Industry Expertise:
    • Minimum of 5 years Heavy Civil Construction experience, or industry related
    Specific Job Requirements:
    • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 Software
    • Strong knowledge of scheduling best practice, principle and techniques
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Heavy Civil Construction process and methods
    • Experience/Familiarity working with CALTRANS
    • Ability to analyze and assess Project Cost reports
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Current on all company required safety and regulatory training
    • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
    • Excellent understanding of the construction industry, particularly in infrastructure/heavy construction
    • Ability to plan and manage projects
    • Excellent judgment and decision-making
    • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence senior leaders across departments
    • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentation, facilitation and listening
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer or driving to job sites. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling in confined or enclosed spaces. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons.
    • Work Environment: Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings. Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise.
    BASE SALARY RANGE:$77,500.00 - $143,500.00The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position.
