Harrisonburg Health & Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a qualified individual to join our growing team as the Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator.

As the Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator, you'll work closely with the center's nursing leadership team to arrange and coordinate staff coverage for patient care departments based on census, established guidelines, and anticipated patient care needs to help our center meet its commitment of providing Care Beyond Compare. You will also work closely with the center's Director of Human Resources and keep HR informed of current and anticipated hiring needs.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and maintain work schedules on a four-week basis for patient care staff using an electronic scheduling system.
  • Monitor schedules daily and secures replacements as needed for gaps in coverage.
  • Ensure the electronic scheduling system stays up to date to accurately reflect staffing schedule.
  • Verify employee attendance and communicate with HR regarding employee absences or tardiness.
  • Coordinate employee requests for time off to ensure proper coverage of nursing units.
  • Develop and maintain good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments in the healthcare center.

What you need

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience as a Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator or equivalent position.
  • Experience with Hosted Time preferred.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate people and resources.
  • Proficient with computer programs including scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Preferred Licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
