  • JOB SUMMARY:
  • The Staffing Coordinator has the responsibility of maintaining the Department staffing schedule, employee attendance records and other clerical functions delegated by the Executive Directors and Director of Nursing.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
      • Maintains master staffing schedule for nursing department.
      • Communicates personnel needs to the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services
      • Maintains a call-in list and badge number list of all available staff.
      • Tracks and documents attendance, maintains folders, monitors for patterns of absence and abuse of sick time and reports problems to the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services
      • Detects and rectifies situations that adversely affect staffing.
      • Processes employee requests for time off with approval of the Assistant Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services.
      • Prepares and reconciles time cards and calendar cards for payroll processing.
      • Utilizes computer for various job duties.
      • Maintains and files daily staffing numbers report.
      • Performs other related duties as required by their manager.
  • POSITION SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
    • Participate in all department meetings, mandated in-service's, and assigned committees.
    • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with residents, registrants, family members, legal representatives and visitors.
    • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all personnel, including supervisors, co-workers and volunteers.
    • Follow all safety regulations and precautions at all times; use protective devices as required.
    • Wear and maintain proper uniform/clothing as established in the uniform dress code policy, including name tag identification. Maintain acceptable personal hygiene.
    • Maintain confidentiality and resident/patient/registrant rights.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all issues and subject matters, including records, reports, data and other related sensitive materials.
    • Maintain an acceptable attendance rate.
    • Follow all laws, rules and regulations of the Federal and NYS Health Codes in regard to the department and overall organization operations.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions and protection from weather conditions. The worker may also be exposed to odors and fumes or mist from medications. Receives training in the In-service Education Room and throughout the facility as appropriate.

  • EDUCATION:
    • Education and Training - Clerical training or education from a recognized secretarial school, program, or business college. Formal computer or word processing training preferred.
    • Experience - One year of experience in a medical setting is preferred.
    • Character - Must possess a pleasing personality, good judgement, dependability, moral integrity, neat appearance and poise; must maintain medical and appropriate information in the strictest confidence.
