Located In:Delray Beach, Florida 33446The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for registering patient account information if applicable, providing professional customer service by displaying a professional and caring demeanor while obtaining information necessary to attend to the appointment schedules. Responsible for scheduling future patient appointments, and rescheduling as changes to doctors' schedules arise.
POSITION DESCRIPTION & DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Schedules, cancels and reschedules patient appointments.
- Registers new patients verifying all demographic and insurance information making corrections as needed.
- Updates patient demographics and insurance information on established patients to maintain accuracy.
- Maintains and updates current information on physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
- Advises patient of financial responsibilities when scheduling appointments.
- Answering incoming calls and forwards the calls to appropriate staff.
- Communicates with other staff regarding changes in Providers schedules (add-ons, cancellations, reschedules) for that current day.
- Ability to work with staff and multiple Providers requests simultaneously.
- Creates tasks in chart and routes to appropriate staff or Provider.
- Mails letters to patients unable to contact by telephone regarding their appointments.
- Confirms appointments as needed for each provider.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Sort, scan, and file a variety of medical records and information into electronic patient chart in appropriate sections, as needed.
- Serve as first impression and ambassador for all patients. Greet patients, ensure accurate demographic and referral information, contribute to consistent workflow and throughput for patients and physicians.
- Check voicemails and respond to requests within twenty-four hours.
- Check email throughout the day.
- Shall cooperatively work with outside agencies to assist in scheduling patients.
- Handles interruptions or unpredictable situations in a positive fashion.

- Use technology and other electronic tools effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of Athena a plus
- Knowledge of Cardiology a plus
- Knowledge of computer scheduling and EMR systems
- Display knowledge of insurance plans- HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage
- Excellent oral, written, organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians, patients and outside facilities.
- Must type efficiently and accurately utilizing a computer keyboard.
- Handles interruptions and unpredictable situations
- Must demonstrate good judgment in regard to confidentiality policy.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand and sit intermittently. Be able to lift up to 30 pounds. May have to stoop, bend knees and/or reach. Must be able to use the keyboard on a computer. Phone work required.Here are just a few things we offer:
