Position Description: Oversee work of Planning & Scheduling team, project staff, and/or consultants assigned to scheduling function for a major/large construction project with sub-project hierarchy. Liaison with project leadership and other stakeholders to assure scheduling compliance with contract requirements. Manage entire project scheduling program and oversee project scheduling for consistency, risks, and standard reporting.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee scheduling program for a major/large construction project with sub-project hierarchy, while leading, managing, and supervising project scheduling team activities of Planning & Scheduling group (e.g., Scheduling Managers, Scheduling Engineers, project staff, and consultants) assigned to scheduling function.

* Review full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for seamless integration of sub-projects of overall project scheduling program.

* Communicate project execution plan and conduct project schedule reviews with project leadership and other stakeholders to assure scheduling compliance with contract requirements and develop program monthly report to promote and communicate early identification and mitigation of risks.

* Engage with clients as Planning & Scheduling subject matter expert to educate and influence expectations for Planning & Scheduling standards, and best practices to satisfy owner standards and other requirements.

* Participate in project task force to collaborate with project departments (e.g., Preconstruction, Commissioning, Procurement, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)) to ensure schedule reflects the project execution plan.

* Review and address cost and/or resource loaded schedules for deficiencies.

* Guide Planning & Scheduling group to facilitate and implement consistent application and adherence to company and Turner 'Scheduling Playbook' policies, practices, and procedures.

* Conduct project site progress walks to verify progress with scheduling team.

* Challenge sub-project team based on previous, current, and future schedule data for progress to ensure logical construction sequencing and guides teams to generate recovery plans as needed.

* Perform audits of project schedules to validate health and quality of entire schedule program and provide feedback to Scheduling group to mature scheduling practices.

* Implement and educate Planning & Scheduling group to use advanced techniques (e.g., weather conditions, TIAs (Time Impact Analysis), cost and resource loading) to identify potential schedule risks and delays.

* Lead and provide schedule analysis to support, defend against, or initiate a claim.

* Manage Planning & Scheduling group and participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.

* Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field, with minimum of 12 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

* Broad scope and various complexity of large construction projects (>$500m)

* Scheduling Certification desired (e.g., Associate of Advancement of Cost Engineers (ACE) Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Institute (PMI) Scheduling Professional (SP))

* Experience in construction project engineering and supervision positions

* Complex commissioning experience, desired

* Extensive knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and Trade practices

* Advanced experience developing metrics, tracking results, conducting gap analysis, and managing scheduling risks

* Advanced knowledge of estimates for project schedule development

* Demonstrate elements of emotional intelligence including self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship management

* Strong analysis, critical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills

* Regular travel: travel modes include air, train, and vehicle as needed

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
