**General Summary:**
The Scheduling Verification Coordinator is responsible for administrative activities related to registration, surgical scheduling and ensuring insurance authorization and correct designation for patients receiving elective surgical procedures at Holy Cross Hospital Health.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Utilizes current information and resources to perform registration and surgical scheduling duties
+ Ensures insurance authorization and correct designation for patients receiving elective surgical procedures
+ Communicates with Supervisor regarding unusual situations or patient status.
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent required.
+ Two years of experience in a hospital and/or other health care setting, preferably in registration, scheduling or insurance verification. Familiarity with third party/insurance payers and medical terminology preferred. Related college level courses may be considered in lieu of work experience.
+ Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology. Familiarity with ICD 10 and CPT codes.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form.
+ Proficiency in the use of computers, and ability to type with accuracy. Specifically, Microsoft products and email.
+ Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
+ Self-directed and ability to prioritize work in a stressful environment.
**Preferred:**
+ College degree preferred.
+ Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or equivalent preferred.
Pay Range: $19.72 - $27.61
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
