Posting Details Position Information Position Title Schneider Maintenance Overview Responsible for the daily operations of the arena, including but not limited to ice maintenance, cleaning, event set up/break down, equipment repairs and upkeep, and all other assigned duties to maintain the safe and effective operation of Schneider Arena. Responsible for compliance with all NCAA and Providence College rules and regulations. Essential Duties:
  • Daily maintenance of the ice surface including operation of Zamboni and edger operation, and removal and installation of ice surface.
  • Clean locker rooms, hallways, lobby, bathrooms, and spectator seating.
  • Perform event set up and break down.
  • Off season work to include painting, general repairs, and heavy cleaning.
Marginal Duties:
  • Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma
  • At least two years of experience in an arena or sports venue with familiarity in ice equipment and operation.
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Knowledge of ice arena operations, activities, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic computer tasks and email correspondence
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety principals and procedures
  • Ability to work independently or with others to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Ability to walk, stand, kneel, sit, or bend for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a physical condition necessary to operate equipment effectively and to perform moderate to heavy lifting
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
