This position serves as the primary liaison/coordinator in the administration of athletic financial aid and McNeese Foundation scholarship programs including awarding, compliance evaluation, account reconciliation, billing, and reporting. The Scholarship Administrator is responsible for the following job functions:
  • Perform duties associated with McNeese Foundation scholarship funds
    • Assist various scholarship committees in recipient selection
    • Determine/review/monitor recipient eligibility status
    • Maintain recipient documents (Banner/BDM/files) for student award data
    • Coordinate Foundation awards with other financial aid programs
    • Maintain contact with and composes acknowledgment/correspondence to donors
    • Reconciliation of accounts and prepare scholarship billings
    • Assist with annual Scholarship Brunch/donor events
  • Perform duties associated with NCAA athletic financial aid
    • Interpret and apply NCAA, conference, institutional rules dealing with athletic financial aid
    • Work closely with athletic staff to coordinate all aspects of student-athlete financial aid
    • Utilize NCAA Compliance Assistant internet/Banner software to verify/maintain athletic financial aid eligibility for all student athletes
    • Coordinate and monitor compliance of NCAA athletic awards with other federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid/scholarship programs
    • Reconcile athletic awards/scholarship accounts
    • Attend appropriate NCAA/conference training seminars
    • Coordinate Grant In Aid/athletic financial aid appeals processes
  • Assist in the development of policies/procedures pertaining to institutional financial aid
  • Assist with and manage other scholarship programs/application databases as assigned by supervisor
  • Apply complex federal/state/institutional guidelines to determine student eligibility for scholarships
  • Maintain confidential scholarship application/award/disbursement records
  • Collaborate with university personnel (i.e., Financial Aid, Cashiering, Computing Services) to facilitate efficient award disbursement and monitor/eliminate overaward situations
  • Provides instructional/informational scholarship presentations
  • Other duties as assigned
Required/Preferred Qualifications Required:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, student information systems, social media, and educational related technologies
  • Experience in task/resource organization and delegation
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated public relations speaking skills
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner
  • Experience in fiscal management
