High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Experience working with children under the age of 14 years and/or with a SACC Program preferred.Available in the mornings and/or afternoons; up to five days/week.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with participants, parents, school/program administration, and staff.Ability to lead activities for elementary and/or middle school age children, including small groups.Ability to meet the physical demands of working with children to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.American Red Cross certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid required.Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.Completion of Tuberculosis test.REPORTS TO: SACC Site Coordinator, Program Coordinator, and Chief Academic OfficerWORK YEAR: 10-months (Hourly Employee)JOB GOALS: To provide a quality and safe experience to children in the School Age Child Care Program, while carrying out the vision of the SACC Program.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uphold and maintain quality SACC Program standards at all times.Deliver children directly from/to parents/guardians/designees for the purpose of ensuring the safety of children and meeting established custodial guidelines.Greets communicate with, and respond to inquiries from parents/guardians daily(i.e. incident reports, attendance, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information appropriate to students.Maintain organized and thorough attendance through the SACC Program attendance system.Communicate regularly with the Site Coordinator and/or Program Coordinator.Interact with and supervise the children, the program area, and all activities, including: games, crafts, snack time, playground, homework help, reading, and other scheduled learning activities for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing play and academic concepts.Communicate appropriate behavior standards and provide individual student accommodations and modifications.Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.Promote good habits to foster student development and interactions.Provide outstanding customer service and demonstrate positive interpersonal communication skills with all stakeholders.Administer and facilitate all program and enrichment activities; implementation of labs, and supplies/materials that support the school site child care operations.Assist the Site and/or Program Coordinator with ordering, organizing, and scheduling all site activities and events.Update the SACC bulletin boards (where applicable) on a timely and consistent basis.Maintain the program site and all equipment, to provide a safe, clean, and organized environment for children.Monitor the SACC Program site relative to quality assurance for compliance and safety, and report any concerns or incidents of non-compliance or safety violations to the Site Coordinator.Implement and maintain rules, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance with the Board of Education's policies, procedures, and applicable federal/state laws and regulations.Compile any/all required documentation and submit to the SACC Office as requested.Attend and participate in all staff meetings and/or training sessions for the purpose of receiving and conveying information related to the program.Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines as set forth in the SACC Employee Handbook.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Site Coordinator, and/or Chief Academic Officer.
