Job Description Summary: Minimum starting salary $22.31The School Behavioral Health Liaison is an experienced, qualified mental health professional responsible for the coordination of services for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of school personnel, law enforcement, the courts, and hospital emergency departments. The School Behavioral Health Liaison is responsible for development and improvement of access to services for those individuals with complex behavioral health issues in collaboration with appropriate school personnel and student/family. This person assists students and families in making informed choices, and assures timely access by the student to psychiatric, medical, vocational, social and educational systems while demonstrating a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of recovery. They will make referrals and coordinate services as necessary. The Liaison assists with crises, hospitalization as needed, and follow-up and reintegration of the student upon return from the hospital. The School Liaison is a leased employee to the school district.Education:
  • Master's degree psychology, social work, or related field
Work Experiences:
  • At least one (1) year experience in youth behavioral health services
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate access to behavioral health services.
  • Answer general questions about youth mental health issues, diagnosis and treatments.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, Law Enforcement, Children's Division, Behavioral Health Services, Juvenile Courts, and other relevant staff to ensure youth in need are identified for appropriate services and support.
  • Provide or coordinate trainings on behavioral health issues, specific to youth for school personnel.
  • Participate in school and collaborative meetings such as school district interagency meetings and System of Care meetings.
  • Participate and assist with Crisis Intervention Teams for Youth and other Initiatives that assist law enforcement and crisis services in helping youth with behavioral health needs.
  • Assist students and appropriate personnel in preparation for transition of students from the hospital to the school environment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours.
