Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc., a private, non-for-profit health and human service agency located in Auburn, NY seeks a Full Time Mental Health Therapist to work in a school-based setting.The School Based Therapist follows the time off Calendar of the Auburn Enlarged School District, and the therapist has the option to work in a Unit Based capacity during school breaks including the summer months. Weekly supervision is provided. The therapist may provide services to clients in the Main Office and a home-based setting as determined by the Agency and client needs.School Based Mental Health Therapist will use their skills to:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health and HIPAA regulations to clients in one or more of the Agency's OMH approved school-based settings.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with required timelines.
- As needed conducts intakes of new clients
- Prepares progress notes, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment plans for clients. Ensures case notes are maintained
- Schedule clients in order to maintain the Agency determined productivity.
- Responsible for the continuing development of knowledge and skills. Participates in agency staff meetings, study groups, and agency committees as needed.
- May supervise interns as needed.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for a Mental Health Therapist:
- A Master's degree in social work or a related field, as well as NYS licensure or a limited permit, or be a student enrolled in a New York State Education Department (NYSED) approved program leading to a license allowable in an OMH licensed clinic.
- Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
- Prior experience in a supervised clinic for 3 years (Preferred)
