Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students? Do you have a knack for fostering positive behavior and creating a supportive learning environment? Holding Hands Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a School Behavior Technician. Schedule: School cases start as early as 7:30am and end as late as 4:00pm, however times vary depending on specific case/school.
  • A minimum availability of 8:00am - 3:00pm, Mon- Fri is required.
  • Full-time hours available
A Day in the life of a School Behavior Technician
  • Use a model of therapy referred to as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the school setting.
  • Trained in evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis principles and provide behavioral support for students requiring 1:1 care. Not to worry, we have a great training program!
  • Assigned to either 1:1 or embedded classroom support cases
  • Analyzes environmental factors that may be inhibiting the student's ability to access their curriculum and works with the student's support team to achieve their goals most productively.
  • Receive ongoing training and supervision throughout the treatment period by a BCBA or a Master/Doctorate level ABA Supervisor.
  • The ultimate goal is to enable the student to achieve the greatest possible academic, social, and emotional success in his/her school environment.
  • Effective ABA intervention is not a one size fits all approach and should never be viewed as a canned set of programs or drills. On the contrary, our multi-disciplinary team customizes the intervention to each learner's skills, needs, interests, developmental profile, preferences, and setting.
Qualifications - What you bring to the tableMinimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus completed college courses (60 units) OR an associate's degree
  • 1 year or more of ABA experience including working with challenging and aggressive behaviors
  • Been with Holding Hands for 90 days and is in good standing.
  • Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds, sit, and run as needed.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable source of transportation, and active auto insurance
  • Passion for working with children, youth, and young adults with developmental disabilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ABA experience in a classroom setting or RBT Certified
  • CPR certification in both pediatrics and adults
  • Experienced and comfortable managing a wide variety of maladaptive behaviors, ranging anywhere from non-compliance, elopement, verbal and physical aggression, self-injurious behaviors, etc.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 1 full school year to ensure students can reach their potential
  • Bilingual
