Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.Job DetailsWhat is the compensation?Pay Rate: $15.00 per shift. Payment will be by direct deposit.Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.What are the main duties?+ Assist children to and from school at designated crosswalks at their assigned post.+ Assist the crossing guard supervisor as needed and perform other related duties as required.What do I need to apply?+ Must be able to respond to work site twice per day and work in adverse weather conditions and heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.+ Requires visual and hearing abilities sufficient to safely perform the duties.+ Must have good rapport with children.NOTE: Individuals applying for this position must be at least 18 years of age and have their own transportation.What are the hours?Location and hours of position will be discussed at time of interview.What are the physical and environmental factors?Work requires exposure to all weather conditions, working in and around heavy traffic, and standing and walking for extended periods.What is the selection process?This is an open file posting. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
