Position will be open until filled.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* The School Crossing Guard or Relief for School Crossing Guard will* Control and direct children safely through crosswalks* Observes traffic* Maintains time sheets, maintains attendance sheets, completes tracking records* Be able to work in extreme weather conditions.* Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.* Must be available for short notice calls to work.* Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 8:15 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.* This is an on call position that requires the employee to provide a reliable automobile to transport crossing guard equipment to job site and cell phone to be reached for short notice calls to duty or calls for assistance in an emergency.* Regular and timely attendance is required.* Other duties as assigned,MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:* High School diploma or equivalent.Required Licenses or Certifications:* Reliable transportation is required.Required Knowledge of:* English language.* Spanish helpful.Required Skill in:* Ability to read and understand the English language.* Effectively communicate with children and adults.* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.* Ability to perform basic math.Physical Demands / Work Environment:* Able to lift 10 to 15 lbs. overhead.* Walk unassisted over uneven terrain.Job postings may be withdrawn at any time at direction of the City Manager.
