As we prepare to expand our impact, and explore opportunities to launch new schools, we are searching for a founding school leader in the Greater Boston area who believes in Bold's vision of excellence, is committed to Bold's design principles, and is well-positioned to engage families and community members in the new location. School Launch FellowshipOur School Launch Fellowship is designed to prepare leaders in our target communities to launch and lead new Bold schools. The School Launch Fellowship builds each leader's deep understanding of Bold's vision, culture, and school design through school-based leadership development at Bold's flagship school in New York City. In addition to school-based leadership development, Launch Fellows collaborate with other senior leaders to develop the new school charter application and community engagement strategy to lay the foundation for a strong launch. After the first year, and based on the local school launch timeline, Fellows transition into the role of school leader. Typically, the fellowship year is followed by a planning year, in which the school leader works closely with Bold's central team to build the school team, engage families, set up facilities, and prepare for the school's launch.Launch Fellows are full-time employees at Bold. In the first year, Fellows should expect to spend a significant amount of time in New York, at Bold's flagship location in the Bronx. Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of Bold's goals, vision, values, and model
- Participate in ongoing leadership development, engaging in key school, community, and leadership activities
- Develop a multi-year strategy that supports intentional, mission-aligned school development
- Develop a community engagement strategy that supports a successful charter application and lays the foundation for strong first year enrollment and staffing
- Model Bold's core values and build a positive student, family, and team culture
- Demonstrate a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in what is best for student achievement
Strong candidates for the Launch Fellowship will:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to and alignment with Bold's mission, beliefs, and values
- Have experience leading high-performing teams and schools to achieve ambitious goals
- Have experience and coaching and developing teams to high levels of performance
- Demonstrate an ability to set a strategic vision and translate data into actionable insights that drive outcomes
- Be a person of high moral character with well-developed emotional intelligence
- Hold exceptionally high personal standards for performance and possess an excellence reflex that constantly raises the bar
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership, advanced degree preferred
