- To screen students for health problems.
- Arrange for corrective and/or preventive medical care for students.
- To work with allied agencies in providing medical services.
- To provide health training for parents and students.
- To provide appropriate medical and follow-up services.
- To make scheduled visits to parish schools.
- To assist schools with student immunization records.
- To implement scoliosis screening for sixth and eighth grade students.
- To implement vision and hearing screening according to established policy.
- To serve as a resource person to school staff.
- To provide health education and counseling at all grade levels.
- To assist in emergency health or accident situations.
- To serve as a liaison between parent, school and health community.
- To make home visits as necessary.
- To adhere to policies, procedures, and ethical standards set by LEA, the Family Service Center and the Office of Public Health.
- To maintain accurate records and reports.
- To participate in quality assurance and quality improvement and other health network activities as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
