Position Type: School NutritionDate Posted: 11/11/2024Location: Hopkins High SchoolDistrict: Hopkins Public School DistrictSalary/Hourly Rate: School Nutrition Employees Class III: $20.34 - $23.67, DOE FTE: 6.5 hours daily SUMMARY: Receives deliveries of food and supplies for the student meals programs; delivers products to the vended meal off site programs, as well as internal food and supplies from one kitchen to another. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
  • Follows HACCP, USDA federal, state, and local sanitary guidelines while receiving, delivering and storing food and products.
  • Coordinates off-site deliveries and troubleshoots problems as they arise.
  • Follows department procedures for proper use and care of equipment; adheres to OSHA and local physical safety requirements.
  • Monitors, maintains and records food temperatures through all stages of receiving and delivering.
  • Receives beverage order from vendors, matches invoices to product received, advises supervisor of product shortage or damage, and when credit is needed.
  • Establishes daily/weekly schedule to accomplish multiple daily food and supply deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Performs general maintenance tasks on vehicles, loading dock, storerooms, coolers, and freezers to keep the equipment clean, in good repair and organized.
  • Identifies and gathers daily forecasted food & supplies for assigned vended meal program location(s).
  • Schedules, delivers and stores the department's Internal Food Ordering system.
  • Ensures all deliveries and pickups are made in accordance to schedule requirements.
  • Assists with managing catering and concessions services food and supplies; performs any on-site problem-solving needed to accommodate department services.
  • Maintains HHS storage areas, coolers, freezers, dry storage, chemical room, in clean and organized condition.
  • Performs proper maintenance of District vehicles, including completion of preventative maintenance; washes the outside and inside of vehicle weekly; reports maintenance issues.
  • Follows procedures for vending machine maintenance, including troubleshooting, research, and contacting repair services if needed.
  • Prepares accurate record keeping.
  • Cashiers at HHS over lunch periods, stocking ala carte shelves as needed; washes tables and provides assistance with food production and dishwashing as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
  • Driver's License.
  • ServSafe Certification.
Required Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge:
  • Safety and sanitation practices for food preparation, distribution and storage.
  • HACCP, USA federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • OSHA and physical safety requirements.
  • Personal sanitation and hygiene regulations.
  • Principles of record keeping and records management.
  • Computer applications related to the work, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
