Position Type: Student Support Services/PsychologistDate Posted: 12/4/2023Location: Site To Be DeterminedDate Available: 2024-2025Closing Date: Until Filled POSITION TITLE: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST, 195 DAYS 2024-2025 School yearJOB DESCRIPTION: Assist in identifying students with various behavioral issues, learning difficulties, disabilities, emotional problems, and other concerns as members of the MTSS, special educational eligibility, and 504 teams. Assess strengths and weaknesses of referred students through appropriate and responsive assessment practices. Support diverse learners by sharing research based interventions and strategies with team members. Prepare and submit psycho-educational reports within the designated time frame. Interpret psycho-educational reports for educators and parents. Use training as mental health specialists to collaborate or work directly with students facing trauma, adjustment issues, skill deficits, or who are at risk for developing them. Assist school teams in the promotion of positive behavior and overall mental health.Keep abreast of new developments in the broad field of school psychology by attending department, professional, and interagency meetings as appropriate. Serve as a consultant on topics regarding the use of evidence based procedures for mental health development, educational interventions, data-based decision making, and other practices related to increasing student achievement. Provide school-based training for teachers and administrators on various topics as deemed appropriate.Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and other professionals in the school to strengthen connections between home and school and increase student engagement for all students.Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Lead School Psychologist. REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Appropriate state certification as a School PsychologistREQUIRED SKILLS: The ability to provide core services of consultation, assessment, intervention, prevention, education, research, planning, and collaboration in order to facilitate students' learning and emotional well being. Flexibility and great interpersonal skills including oral and written communication are essential. Excellent attendance and punctuality are required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year acceptable experience as a School Psychologist or acceptable practicum and internship experience in School Psychology.
