Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support the assessment, evaluation, and educational development of students within our Special Populations department. This role is integral to maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines, facilitating ARD meetings, and supporting educators in implementing high-quality individualized education programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Diagnostics

  • Collaborate with administrators to ensure robust assessment practices.
  • Administer student testing aligned with recognized best practices.
  • Communicate assessment findings to diverse audiences including staff, parents, and students.
  • Recommend effective instructional strategies to support student success.

Record Maintenance and Compliance

  • Maintain eligibility folders and ensure compliance with district policies.
  • Regularly review documentation to align with special education data and PEIMS reporting.
  • Work closely with campus teams to ensure teachers have the tools to meet compliance standards.

Teacher Training and Support

  • Provide training on IEP development and submission processes.
  • Educate staff on effective strategies to support students with special needs.
  • Promote accuracy and timeliness in compliance with special education services.

Parent and Student Engagement

  • Foster open communication with parents and students to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Encourage participation in the ARD process and IEP development.
  • Maintain a calendar of events for parent-student information exchanges.

Professional Growth

  • Attend relevant trainings and conferences to stay updated on special education laws and practices.
  • Advocate for ongoing staff training to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Assessment, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certification or licensure as a Diagnostician or LSSP.
  • Preferably two years of experience in a related role.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
