Collaborates with school leaders and staff to collect, analyze, and report student performance data. Delivers professional development, assists in implementing instructional strategies, and supports plan development and evidence-based interventions. Facilitates understanding of school quality indicators and employs coaching methodologies. Promotes data-driven decision-making, technology integration, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement. Essential Job Functions
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of School Improvement, MTSS & School Improvement Coordinator, leadership directors, building administrators, teachers, and division instructional team members to collect, analyze, and report student performance data for each school receiving targeted support.
  • Provides direct support to schools for all parts of the School Quality Process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborates with school-based Coordinators of Assessment and Remediation to implement and monitor instructional strategies aimed at enhancing student learning and outcomes.
  • Participates in and delivers professional learning sessions focused on the the School Quality Process and instructional best practices
  • Supports schools in the development and implementation of action plans incorporating best practices and evidence-based interventions around the Virginia Support Framework.
  • Utilizes data analytics tools and methodologies to drive data-informed decision-making processes with schools.
  • Supports the integration of technology in instructional practices to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Provides guidance to schools with interpreting and utilizing school quality indicators such as Academic Achievement, Achievement Gaps, Student Engagement, and Outcomes.
  • Partners and collaborates with other CCPS departments to support the School Improvement and School Quality Process.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration among stakeholders, including parents, community members, and external partners, to support school improvement initiatives.
  • Uses coaching strategies when supporting school staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Budgetary Responsibility: Collaborates with principals on the development of School Improvement Grants.Report Preparation:
  • Supports preparing reports with commendations and possible recommendations for school improvement plans.
  • Assists with overseeing, preparing, monitoring, and submitting required reports for the
  • Virginia Department of Education: Academic Reviews, School Improvement and Innovation Plans, and School Improvement Grant Requests.
Equipment Operation: Uses computer software for reports, data analysis, monitoring, and presentations.Contacts: Supports all levels of CCPS staffWork Direction/Supervision:N/ADecision Making: Functions independently within the context of daily activities. Considerable professional judgment is required. Requires supervisory approval for expenditures of funds. Qualifications Must have knowledge of and interest in school improvement. Must have experience working with student performance data to successfully drive instruction in the classroom. Must be able to deliver professional learning to adults and support the implementation of that professional learning at the school level. Considerable knowledge: of research-based theories and application of Improvement Science as well as effective strategies to change cultures toward systematic supports. Demonstrated ability: to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders in developing long- and short-term goals in the successful implementation of school and/or division initiatives; and to effectively communicate through writing and speaking. Extensive knowledge of data analysis and its use for instructional planning and delivery of continuous improvement planning process and evaluation. Extensive knowledge of computer software and applications for data management, interpretation, and presentation. Demonstrated ability to interpret and facilitate implementation of multiple components of school improvement planning; to manage major projects and report findings; to organize, meet deadlines, and analyze complex situations; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to work effectively in a collegial and collaborative manner in accomplishing diverse tasks. RequirementsMust hold a valid Virginia teaching license. Master's degree preferred in Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Three years of successful experience with classroom instruction, testing, tutoring and/or remediation services.
