- Demonstrated competency with computers and computer programs and general office procedures, good communication skills a requirement.
- Strong organizational skills a must. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOAL: To organize and work to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to proper person.
- Acts as a receptionist to the incoming public.
- Displays strong communication and people skills.
- Responsible for making general school announcements as directed by the Principal.
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive and smoothly run office.
- Operates multi-positioned telephone switchboard to relay incoming calls.
- Responds to request for information as directed by the Principal.
- Sorts, distributes, and delivers mail list and supplies.
- Types and proofread letters, agendas, forms, and documents when directed by the Principal.
- Answers questions of callers according to school policy; takes messages for staff members.
- Maintains an alphabetical file of staff members; names, room locations, and telephone extensions to expedite relaying calls.
- Types correspondence, charts, personnel reports and such other data as needed.
- Places and receives telephone calls and records messages to district employees.
- Prepares packets of information for teacher applicants.
- Prepares packets of information for administration.
- Responsible for general clerical duties.
- Inputs data into specific databases and programs.
- Assist in the preparation of an annual directory.
- Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
- Manage visitor logs.
- Manage student check-in and dismissal logs.
- Cooperates and works well with the school nurse, other secretaries, and staff
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
