The Milford Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2024/2025 School Year: School Social Worker Full Time (1.0 FTE) Probationary Full Time (10 Month)Salary/ Pay Rate: Based on MTA ContractMilford Central School District is looking for an inspiring educator who can serve as the link between school and community in providing services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success.Requirements: NYS Certified School Social Worker NYSED fingerprint clearanceQualifications: Ability to provide counseling and support for students K-12. The ability to establish a shared commitment to the goals of the school and the district by building strong relationships with administrators, fellow staff, students, and parents alike. Knowledge of Crisis Incident Stress Management, Dignity for All Students Act, and Restorative Justice Practices.Responsibilities: Provide social work support services to students. Provide teachers and staff with strategies and interventions for struggling students. Work to align social, emotional, and behavioral support with the School District's mission. Conduct direct family outreach - including home visits. Regularly communicate with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide support. Possess evidence-based skills for individual and group counseling for students. Support building and district wide SEL initiatives. Provide intensive services and crisis intervention for high-risk students and their families. Assist students in setting and reaching both short and long term academic and attendance-related goals.
