Position: Speech-Language PathologistLocation: Special Services DepartmentRate: $67/hourRequirement: Must possess a valid NJDOE Speech-Language Specialist certificateQualifications:
- Completion of a Master's degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, communication disorders or speech-language and hearing science
- Applicant must hold or be eligible for a Speech/Language Pathologist Professional License from the State of New Jersey
- ASHA certification is preferred; however, CFY's may be considered if supervision is accessible.
- Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of four hours per work day.
- Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
- Favorable criminal background check and child registry check required.
- 2 Step Tuberculin test.
General Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose: Evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students
- Create treatment plans: Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech-language needs
- Provide therapy: Use diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to support the curriculum
- Educate: Train and educate students, parents, and other professionals
- Collaborate: Work with teachers, parents, and other professionals to achieve goals
- Maintain records: Keep detailed records and report progress
- Organize: Organize the school program and coordinate services with other student services
- Participate: Attend school events and contribute to the school community
