Other duties may be required and assigned. Provides network, e-mail, hardware (Mac and PC), software and peripheral equipment support for teachers, staff and students in multiple locations, buildings, classrooms and offices. Installs and maintains computer images, operating systems, instructional software and administrative applications. Evaluates technology equipment, make appropriate on-site repairs, facilitates off-site repairs and performs preventive maintenance. Updates location inventory with accurate data to ensure precise and efficient inventory including printer IP assignments. Move, set up and configure computer equipment; including equipment for Board meetings and other events where technical support is needed. Work as a team member in the coordination and implementation of large technology projects. Works with users in a fast-paced environment to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues. Responsible for maintaining and updating work orders within the allotted SLA timeframe. Promote communication among teachers for sharing technology resources and ideas. Works with school staff and the Instructional Technology staff to promote the effective use of technology. Participates in professional development and training opportunities to remain current and improve job knowledge and skills. Understands and follows all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Technology Supervisor. Apple Certified Technician preferred, but not required. MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree or comparable relevant experience. Apple ACMT preferred. Minimum of three (3) years successful experience supporting technology users. Experience assisting users in a network environment. Experience using and supporting productivity applications and instructional software. Good record-keeping skills with data base experience preferred. Strong verbal communication skills. Strong group presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Experience in an instructional environment is desirable. Dual platform experience is desirable. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. The Technology Support Personnel maintain a forty-hour (40) workweek and work additional hours as required to carry out all the duties and responsibilities of the position. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems, philosophies, laws, regulations, and procedures; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria and the goals and priorities of planning and development programs. ADA COMPLIANCE: Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as rude/irate customers.
