QUALIFICATIONS
* DESE certification - ESL Secondary level, 5-12
* SEI Endorsement
* Minimum of 3 years of teaching English learners at various levels of proficiency in SEI content classes and/or ESL classes
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrate knowledge, skills and disposition of a change agent
* Possess strong organizational and communication skills
* Attend DESE/LPS workshops to maintain knowledge of current best practices for ELs
* Co-facilitate PLCs with department heads and building leaders across content areas
* Travel to assigned Secondary schools to provide support to SEI content teachers
* Maintain knowledge of research-based exemplary practices, instruction and assessment
* Collaborate with teachers on the integration of technology into classroom practices
* Co-teach/model best classroom practices with the implementation of strategies, interventions and required linguistic supports and scaffolds.
* Provide PD to ESL staff and SEI staff on WIDA and other research based best practices for ELs
* Co-facilitate monthly ESL department meetings
* Co-facilitate monthly content area department meetings with department heads on an as-needed basis
* Analyze and evaluate ACCESS and LPS EL data
* Participate in curriculum work across multiple content areas
* Maintain a weekly log of activities
* Perform other duties as assigned by MLE Department
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
* As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union.
