Job Title: Science Lab Assistant (Chemistry and/or Biology) Work Study

Rate of Pay: $8.25/hour
Job Duties:
* Conducts lab setups in collaboration with instructors.
* Feeds lab animals, water plants, wash test tubes, clean lab, maintain aquaria and terraria, complete other duties as assigned.
* Tools Used on job: Hammer, mop, broom, scalpel, forceps, pipettes, spatulas, balances, cups, cylinders.
* Machines Used: Blender, autoclave, hot plates, incubators, industrial dishwasher, and Chemistry ventilation hood.
* Electronic Devices Used: Computers, electric balance, microscopes
Abilities:
* Some Science coursework and background
* Physical Requirements: LIGHT WORK: Exerting up to 2 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Use of arm and/ or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work.
* Visual Acuity Requirement (including color, depth perception and field of vision): close assembly, visual inspection, using measurement devices.
* Environmental Conditions: Activities occur inside and outside, subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin; fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. This position is very versatile and accommodations can be made to the student's requirements.
Education and Experience: HS Diploma or equivalent
