Rudolf Steiner School seeks a colleague to teach science and mathematics courses in the Upper School (grades 7-12). Strong candidates will have mathematics and science (chemistry, biology, physics) teaching experience across most or all of the grades listed above, ideally in a Waldorf school. As members of the Upper School faculty, teachers have the opportunity to collaborate with one another on a daily basis both in the departmental area and throughout the school community. Rudolf Steiner School seeks candidates who wish to invent and innovate toward math and science curricula of the future, informed by the values that guide the pedagogy of Waldorf schools. Rudolf Steiner School, an independent Nursery to 12 school and the first Waldorf School in North America, is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side.   • all aspects of preparing lessons, teaching, and assessing student work;
  • regular communication with students, colleagues, and parents;
  • participation in regular meetings, periodic special events, and occasional class trips.
In addition to experience in disciplines mentioned above, basic requirements for candidacy are a bachelor's degree in a pertinent field (master's or higher preferred) and appreciative interest in Waldorf education.
