Job Description:

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Physiology starting in the 2025 - 2026 academic year. This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position. This individual will teach undergraduate courses (lectures and laboratories) in anatomy and physiology. The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. degree in biology or a related area by the time of hire. Teaching experience and student research mentoring are preferred but not mandatory. Individuals from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

The teaching load for this position is 18 contact hours per year. The successful candidate will also serve as lead coordinator for the Anatomy and Physiology course, and the Health Science major. In this capacity, the successful candidate will communicate regularly with the Graduate Assistants and Adjunct Faculty teaching additional lab sections in order to ensure a consistent, robust laboratory experience for all students in the course. Additionally, this individual will partner with key personnel at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) to coordinate student placements for the senior learning experience.

The successful candidate will also be expected to attend departmental meetings and participate in departmental initiatives such as student advising, curricular revisions and strategies for outreach and recruitment (e.g. social media presence, virtual and on-campus events).

Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in biology, or a related field.

* Potential for excellence in teaching at the college level

* Commitment to undergraduate education

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Additional stipends are available for extra responsibilities in teaching and service.
