Take your career farther than you thought possible.Business Unit SummaryOur Biologics Development team is responsible for development and transfer of safe, efficient, and approvable biologics drug substance manufacturing processes and analytical methods for all of BMS' biologics portfolio. We work closely with other BMS units to support our clinical pipeline through to late stages of clinical development. Innovation is at the core of what we do, with an intense focus on efficiency, speed, robustness, and approvability of our processes and methods.Position SummaryThis position will leverage analytical chemistry and lab automation to develop and apply state-of-the-art analytical methods for quality testing of protein therapeutics.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport analytical testing for monoclonal antibodies and fusion proteins, including HPLC/UPLC, isoelectric focusing, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, qPCR, etc. Mass Spectrometry experience is beneficial.Implement state-of-the-art lab automation to simplify and streamline lab work (Tecan, Andrew+, others)Evaluate new analytical methods for improving analytical capability and assay performance.Support method standardization activities in collaboration with partner groups at New Brunswick NJ, Devens MA, and other BMS sites.Authoring technical reports, methods, and/or regulatory submissions to support our pipeline.Collaborate closely with Research and Development, Characterization, Manufacturing Process Development, and Clinical Manufacturing teams.Maintain accurate and up to date laboratory e-notebook documentation.Learn analytical skills needed to support future assays for the next generation of biologics programs.On-site presence is required to complete the primary responsibilities of this position. Occasional travel to the BMS New Brunswick, New Jersey site is expected.Sustain a safe and high-performance laboratory environment.Qualifications & ExperienceA PhD/Doctorate degree in Analytical Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 0 to 2 years of relevant industry and/or academic experience, or a Masters degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or Bachelors degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.Excellent communication and organizational skills, supported by a strong record of publications and presentations.The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.Experience in a variety of protein analytical techniques, which may include affinity LC, N-glycan characterization, iCIEF, size exclusion HPLC and UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, and mass spectrometry.Experience with sample preparation techniques a plus including affinity purification and other SPE approaches.Experience in programming and usage of robotic liquid handlers, such as Tecan, Hamilton or similar platforms, is beneficial.Knowledge and experience of nucleotide bioanalytical techniques is useful, including southern blot, northern blot, reverse transcription, and qPCR.Skill in utilizing scientific computer software is beneficial, including Empower, LIMS software, SYMYX ELN, JMP, Microsoft office applications.#J-18808-Ljbffr
