Position Summary:
The Scientist in Biology will manage, plan, and execute in vitro studies to evaluate novel drug conjugates for applications in oncology and other areas of unmet medical need. The position is lab-facing and on-site. The title and compensation package will be based on experience and relevant skills.
Responsibilities:
● Develop, perform, and optimize in vitro biochemical and cellular assays to evaluate novel payloads, antibodies, and drug conjugates on cell culture and ex vivo samples
● Contribute to the design and execution of in vitro studies for target validation
● Support development of robust in-house capabilities to perform in vitro experiments with higher throughput formats
● Collaborate cross-functionally with protein sciences and chemistry teams
● Manage cell line procurement, optimal culture conditions, expansion, storage, and inventory
● Participate in project teams
Requirements and Experience:
● B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or closely related field with > 3 years for PhD and > 6 years for BS/MS of industry experience
● Strong hands-on experience in designing and executing in vitro experiments to validate targets using ADCs, mAbs, degraders or small molecules
● Experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, cell viability assays, Western blot analysis, cell-based fluorescence and chemiluminescence assays, and cell line engineering
● Experience with tissue culture and handling animal and human tissues
● Highly organized, diligent, and quality focused with good computer and documentation skills
● Creativity and problem-solving skills paired with ability to excel in a highly collaborative environment
● Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Skills:
● Good utility of bioinformatic tools for target validation
● Experience in IHC and/or proteomics
