OverviewThe Antibody Characterization & Validation Scientist plays an essential role in the establishment and running of high-throughput assays to test antibodies for activity in various imaging applications. Having completed a doctorate in a biological field, the Scientist will bring experience in high content imaging and automated data analysis to the Team. The Scientist must be adept in quality control and process management and reliably provide detailed documentation on experiments completed. The Scientist will work in close collaboration with other scientific team members and contribute to a wide array of antibody characterization and assay application projects. This position is highly collaborative and strong communication skills are essential. Primary Responsibilities•Establish immunofluorescence (IF) methods and workflows to assess reagent antibody activity in cell lines and primary cells.•Maintain cell lines and primary cell cultures.•Build infrastructure for image analysis, data handling, and result dissemination.•Leverage robotics and automation for high throughput antibody analysis.•Troubleshoot technical problems.•Prepare internal reports, presentations and peer reviewed scientific publications.•Attend cross functional team meetings and be the subject matter expert on imaging applications and data.•Supervise research associates and coordinate with other scientists to ensure efficient, high-quality antibody testing.Qualifications •PhD degree and postdoc in a life science field (i.e., biology, protein biochemistry, or structural biology)•Extensive experience in IF and automated image analysis.•Proficiency with mammalian cell culture.•Familiarity with assays utilized to assess reagent antibody activity (Western Blotting, IP, ELISA, Flow Cytometry) is preferred.•Experience with liquid handling robots and automation will be a plus.•Experience with ICC and IHC will be beneficial.•Ability to work in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment•Good organizational and documentation skills•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Enthusiastic team member with a strong commitment to mission and a desire to conduct impactful scienceIPI provides competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package to support physical, mental and financial health.
