Scientist, Discovery Biology
Our stealth-mode SMD newco is seeking a Scientist, Discovery Biology to join our growing team of passionate researchers. The role will contribute to program advancement through cellular assay development, candidate biomarker identification and providing target biology expertise.
Job responsibilities:
- Utilize cellular models to understand how targets modulate disease-relevant pathways to support therapeutic rationales
- Develop and execute cellular assays to profile compounds and advance compound development
- Identify candidate biomarkers associated with targets and pathways that have the potential to be employed in clinical studies
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success
- Communicate scientific progress effectively at team meetings and ensure timely execution
- Generate, organize, evaluate, and maintain data efficiently
- Foster a dynamic, collaborative, and stimulating environment that encourages rigorous scientific exploration
Successful candidates will meet most of these criteria:
- PhD in cell biology, neuroscience, or closely related field
- Extensive experience in developing cell-based assays; experience working with iPSC-derived CNS cell types preferred
- Proficiency in key lab techniques in molecular and cellular biology including ELISA, MSD, western blotting, immunofluorescence, confocal imaging, RNA extraction and flow cytometry
- Strong experimental design and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by a solid publication record
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team
