Location(s): United States of America City/Cities: Atlanta Travel Required: 00% - 25% Relocation Provided: No Job Posting End Date: December 13, 2024 Shift: Job Description Summary: Job Purpose Summary The Technical Consumer Research (TCR) Scientist works as an individual contributor who will design and influence the adoption of appropriate sensory and consumer science to ensure our product offerings for the North America Operating Unit (OU) are market leaders, resonating with consumers' preferences and expectations. The TCR Scientist will also actively participate in Global TCR communities providing their unique point of view and collaborating on building global research plans that influence our innovation pipeline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CONSUMER RESEARCH DESIGN PRINCIPLES Design and conduct sensory & consumer research studies to meet specific project objectives. Leadership of categories with support. Design and conduct sensory & consumer research studies to meet specific project objectives. Be curious, proactively leverage external knowledge (supplier, symposium, literature review) to identify & try innovative alternative methods. DATA ANALYTICS & SYNTHESIS Perform analysis and interpret test results; form conclusions on studies conducted. Prepare and present technical conclusion. Knowledge and basic usage of Statistical software (XLStat, SPSS, SAS, etc.), Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Word Harness evolving technologies and data analytics to develop tools and solutions that bolster competitive advantage and deliver market-leading results. Bring the outside in, remain current with relevant scientific literature. Inspire self and the team with external resources. TECHNICAL RISK MANAGEMENT Skilled in identifying and assessing technical risks, developing strategies to mitigate these risks, and implementing proactive measures to ensure project continuity and system integrity. BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING & SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE System Thinking, ability to listen to and influence those in less technical roles to act and invest in capabilities with compelling business cases TECHNCIAL COMMUNICATION & DATA STORYTELLING Translate strategic visions into actionable plans, using knowledge of current business processes and best practices. Prepare and present technical conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences. INFLUENCING & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT Function as a key business partner by effectively managing and nurturing internal and external relationships, including collaboration with research suppliers, academic institutions, and cross-functional project teams, to support and advance organizational goals. Qualifications & Requirements B.S or MS/PhD degree from an accredited college or university (food or sensory science, or related fields). Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in sensory science or consumer research. Desired Skills and Competencies: Human-Centered Design: Design a research plan to address key questions for a specific project Sensory Science & Consumer Research Research Design Principles for qualitative and quantitative research Foundations of technical risk management Technical Communication: Simplify complex information in a concise format that is appropriate for the audience. Analyze and communicate research in a fit for purpose format Technical Communication and Storytelling with data Data Engineering, database development & understanding Data Analytics & Synthesis of Structured and Unstructured data. Statistics and data analysis skills. Understand and work in data management tools and proficiency in visualization (PowerBI or other) Familiarity with AI / Machine Learning principles, demonstrating an eagerness to deepen understanding and apply these technologies effectively. Business Partnerships: Work with multiple functions to execute project work (R&D, Marketing, HI, etc.) Serves as a trusted advisor, offering insights into relevant markets, business strategies, and operating environments to support informed decision-making across the organization and among individual team members. Cultivates strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders by providing valuable market analysis and strategic guidance to enhance business operations and drive organizational success. Process Improvement: Recommend more effective ways of working to execute and drive value Skills: Communication, Consumer Understanding, Creative Approaches, Cross-Functional Teamwork, Data Analysis, Data Driven, Food Sciences, Influencing Skills, Managing Ambiguity, Proactive Behavior, Proactive Thinking, Sensory Evaluation, Sensory Research, Statistical Analysis, User Experience Analysis Pay Range: $82,600 - $107,000 Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
