We are looking for a Scientist to join our growing Product Science Group. The new team member will be involved in concept through development of genomics tools. The position primarily involves hands-on laboratory work and data analysis.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hands-on execution of experimental work, plans independently or in collaboration with other group members, in support of departmental goals.
- Be data driven with strong data analysis skills.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for critical reagents and processes.
- May author design documents, protocols, reports, SOPs, work instructions and other product related documents as needed.
- Track progress of projects, be flexible, be able to handle multiple projects and help drive key decisions with solid testing data and scientific leadership.
- Communicate results with internal stakeholders and R&D management.
- Keep a detailed laboratory notebook and summarize work in research reports and team meeting presentations.QualificationsEducation:
- PhD with an emphasis in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or related field.Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of postdoctoral experience. Experience in the biotechnology industry a plus.
- Strong technical proficiency in genomic assay technologies (e.g. nucleic acid purification, quantification, amplification, labeling, PCR, qPCR, microarrays, etc.) and broad experience in standard molecular biology, genomic, and biochemistry techniques.
- Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and sample preparation.
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to proactively identify issues and address with solutions-oriented approach.
- Self-starter who is innovative and willing to explore new methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment; capable of managing competing priorities.
