Position Summary PennEngineering, a global leader in the engineering and manufacturing of precision fasteners, has an immediate opening for a Screw Machine Operator for our Winston-Salem, North Carolina – Division on Night Shift. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of screw machines used in the production of high-quality fasteners. We are committed to your success, and for this reason, you will be paired with a mentor. You will undergo certified training that has been approved by the state of North Carolina for training in operating multi-spindle screw machines, receive additional hands-on training from experienced Screw Machine operators, and attend on-site training and quality classes. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate screw machines in accordance with production specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machinery performance issues and adjust as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of screw machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with the production team to achieve daily production targets, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of quality.
- Accurately record production data and provide regular reports on performance to management.
- Comply with all safety regulations and practices and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment as a Screw Machine Operator is a plus but is not required.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus over long periods.
- Strong work ethic and proven track record of being reliable and punctual.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and other hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with Davenport screw machine.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift.
- Must be able to bend forward and stretch to reach into the machine as needed to perform the job duties.
- Must have visual acuity to read micrometers, inspect small parts, and adjust tooling.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 10 times during an 8-hour shift.
- Occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. may be necessary.
- Near vision must be at least 20/30.
