This position allows the physician to utilize the time spent with their patient in an efficient manner.Responsibilities of this position include:
- Accompanies physician into patient rooms to accurately record medical examination and other information necessary to complete medical record.
- Prepares chart prior to visits as directed by physicians' expectation of speed and accuracy.
- Reviews chart for accuracy. Utilizes reference materials to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports. Navigates Word, Windows and the electronic medical records effectively.
- Ensures patient privacy at all times.
Requirements of this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Medical Terminology preferred
- One year of transcription experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, orally and in writing, in person and telephonically with co-workers, physicians, patients, and patient's families; must interact well with co-workers
- BLS or Heartsaver Certification required
- Certified transcriptionist preferred
