Job Summary: The Scrum Master is a critical part of an Agile Scrum Team responsible for the facilitation and coordination of agile delivery ceremonies, practices, and processes for the organization, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality, value-based solutions. The Scrum Master will collaborate with and serve as primary liaison between product and development teams throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle and champion assigned agile teams in the application of agile disciplines and practices. The primary purpose of the Scrum Master role is to refine and development cycles and timelines to ensure on-time product delivery, track and measure agile performance metrics, remove roadblocks, and facilitate a culture of continuous learning and improvement that optimizes healthy team performance in support of a successful value delivery cycle. The Scrum Master will be fluent in agile methodologies and industry best practices, the software development lifecycle, and product management principles and practices. Successful demonstration of the Scrum Master role and responsibilities include hands-on iterative development engagement, detail-oriented and authentic in nurturing and managing agile teams, and sincere approach to collaborative cross-organizational partnerships and solutioning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient, predictable agile iteration cycles and processes through collaboration with product management and technology teams.
  • Facilitates and supports all agile scrum events: Iteration Planning, Standup, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective.
  • Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that hinder the team's progress.
  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions.
  • Communicate project status, risks and issues to team, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Track KPIs and help teams deliver high-quality products/solutions on time.
  • Ensure that the team follows the Scrum framework and adheres to Agile principles.
  • Guides and coaches delivery teams on all facets in the execution of Agile practices and principles.
  • Fosters commitment to achieve a high performing, self-managing team by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching, techniques, and improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
  • Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicate effectively, both internally and externally of the team.
  • Works with Scrum Team, as well as partners and stakeholders, to influence decision making and support of team health and value delivery.
  • Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
  • Works with Agile coaches, other Scrum Masters, and Product Delivery Managers to grow within the role.
  • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices across portfolios in the organization.
Required Knowledge:
  • Expert level knowledge of agile frameworks and methods (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, Scaled) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end technical product delivery or agile project management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of JIRA, TFS, and Confluence, level of fluency is preferred.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Demonstrated excellence in the management and execution of agile frameworks and methods (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, Scaled) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Self-driven and highly adaptable throughout the end-to-end technical product or project delivery process.
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum or similar techniques.
  • Planning and problem solving with product and technical teams as well as cross-functional partners, leaders, or stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute in a rapidly movement healthcare technology environment.
  • Strong belief in continuous improvement and team empowerment.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as agile delivery lead in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), software development, or technical product or operations domain.
  • Prior Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) industry knowledge and experience highly desired.
  • Proven track record organizing, coaching, and managing multiple agile teams in a complex technology or nuanced regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing and championing agile teams and practices in varying states of maturity.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques.
Required Education:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in information technology, software engineering, business, operations or equivalent work experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar discipline related certification.
